Slicer profiles connect a printer, material, process, firmware context, and output file. The same label can refer to different settings or different layers of an inherited profile, so a value should be interpreted in its selected context rather than copied by name alone.

Use this category when you need to:

  • identify whether a setting belongs to the printer, material, or process side of a profile;
  • inspect inherited, overridden, per-object, or compatibility-filtered values;
  • move a documented result between slicers without assuming field equivalence;
  • import, export, version, back up, and supersede profiles with their hardware and release context; or
  • distinguish flow, volumetric-speed, retraction, pressure-advance, and linear-advance controls before changing one.

A slicer accepting a file is a software event, not proof that the target printer, firmware, nozzle, material, or physical result is equivalent. Keep the slicer name and release, exact printer variant, nozzle, plate, material product and dry state, firmware, and verification result with any shared profile.
